Condition:
Any number divided by 9Methods:
Step 1: Write the last digit of the digit of the dividend as the last digit of the quotient
Step 3: Repeat step 2 for the next digit.
Step 4: Repeat step 2 again for another digit. Take note that, the sum (7 + 6 = 13) is greater than 9, hence the tens digit of the sum need to be added to another value place later on.
Step 5: This step is a little bit tricky. For the first digit of the dividend, we still repeat step 2, but we DO NOT put the answer ( 13 + 7 = 20) as the first digit of the quotient. Instead, we take it out, and divide it 9.
Step 6: We add the tens digit of 13 to the tens value place of the quotient. At the same time, we calculate 20 ÷ 9 = 2 remain 2.
Step 7: Add the answer that we obtain from step 6 to the first digit of the quotient.
Lastly, we obtain the answer.
