Multiplying a Two/One Digits Number by 99

Conditions:


  1. The multiplicand must be a two or one digit number.
  2. The multiplier is 99

Answer:

  1. Reduce 56 by 1, and make the result the first 2 digits of the answer.
  2. Find the complement of 56, and make it the last 2 digits of the answer.

Answer:

  1. Reduce 523 by 1. The result will be the first 3 digits of the answer.
  2. Find the 1000's complement of 523. 1000 - 523 = 477. This will be the last 3 digits of the answer.
